Tommy is the founder and an owner of the bar athletic club. He has been coaching & personal training since 2006, for over 10 years. Most people recognize his skill in coaching athletes for powerlifting, but his knowledge goes much further. Tommy has coached various athletes from golfers to football players and has helped older populations with preventative and post-surgery rehab. Most of his clients are just looking to be fit and healthy. His passion is to help people achieve the results they seek.
When attending Texas A&M University, Tommy found passion and enjoyment after joining the power-lifting team. He later transferred to Angelo State University and continued powerlifting. He earned his bachelor’s degree in Kinesiology and Exercise Science at ASU in 2010 as well as his master’s degree in coaching sport, recreation, & fitness in 2013. While he was a student, Tommy founded the ASU Ram Powerlifting Team, which still thrives today. He also started a new team for people that are members or clients of the bar, the Barbarian powerlifting team.

My passion is with helping people get the results they seek. I have gained knowledge not only in my experience working with a trainer but also working with Angelo State Athletics assisting with their strength & conditioning program. I have also been working at Goodfellow AFB assisting with the DOD Fire Academy Strength and conditioning program, which I am currently still involved with. Additionally, I am the director of our youth programs here at The Bar leading a group of young people in powerlifting as well as strength & conditioning.

My favorite Bible Verse is Psalms 18:32 Training Philosophy I grew up an athlete, Football and Wrestling were my main sports. During college I would gain a passion for fitness and health which led me to become a coach and help others develop healthier and fitter lifestyles. My training philosophy to meet your fitness goals you need Commitment, Consistency, and Discipline. Commit to your goals, want it as much as you want anything. Be consistent and not perfect, if you have a bad day restart the next day. Motivation comes and it go’s, Discipline is engrained in your being. Discipline over Motivation.
